Analytic Explorer is a straightforward but powerful analysis tool that enables you to extract key data directly from Financials or from your offline datamart (Intelligence), build multidimensional analysis “cubes” and then view and work with the results using familiar Microsoft® Excel® tools.

It enables users to take data:

• directly from Financials for online analytic browsing – ideal if your reporting and analysis requirements are lower volume and reasonably straightforward. This provides an excellent starting point for improved performance management and a taste of the benefits you could achieve by capitalizing on the data in your key business systems.
• from the datamart of Intelligence our sophisticated analytic framework and database, optimized for in-depth, high-volume, offline analysis of financial and other key business data from across the organization. This datamart approach is ideal for organizations that have more complex, high-volume requirements and where data from multiple business systems is required. In particular, it has the advantages of ensuring consistency, of minimizing the impact on the performance of the source systems and of making it easier to cope with subsequent changes to those systems.
